Now that October has arrived we are in full swing at Garden Manor!
September is an exciting month. A month of firsts; a month of transitions. That being said, the beginning of school is challenging. With its many moving parts, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the parents for partnering with us to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible. So many wonderful foundations are laid in September that pave the way for a great school year. New teachers are introduced to their students, parents and students rekindle friendships from the previous school year and new friendships are made. I am looking forward to this school year!
Currently, we have our Fall fundraiser going on that will end next Friday, October 21st. While this fundraiser is not mandatory by any means, please consider supporting our school. Every purchase counts towards money we will receive back that we will use to enhance the curriculum and facilities at Garden Manor.
Friday, October 14th is Garden Manor's traditional trip to Hick's for the Pre-School and Pre-K classes. The children love listening to (and watching) Otto's story, going on the hay ride and of course picking their very own pumpkins! On Monday, October 31st ~ Halloween ~ we are once again having our Halloween parade for the Pre-School and Pre-K students. It will begin at 9:00 a.m. More information to follow. In the meantime, if you want to find out more about the parade you can click on that event on the online calendar.
* Please email your child's teacher directly if your child is going to be absent.
* If your child is going to be picked up by someone other than yourself we must have a completed Permission for Pick Up and Drop Off form on file along with a copy of the person's license . Please notify your child's teacher as well so she can be prepared at dismissal for the change.
* Please use our website as a resource. It is full of information that you may need throughout the school year. It also has current documents that you can download and print at home.
* Please keep your school calendar handy. (If you misplaced your copy there is one on the website for you to refer to or print out.) In addition to the important dates listed on there, at the bottom is the procedure for weather related school closings and delays. While it is my intention to send an email to all the parents should school be closed or delayed by weather, extenuating circumstances could arise (ex. loss of power...). Always remember, when in doubt, if Garden City Schools are closed we are closed, if Garden City schools are delayed we open at 10:00 a.m.
